World: Demand for mobile payments to increase
According to a new survey, payment professionals are optimistic about future demand for mobile payments (point-of-sale payments made using a mobile phone). Twenty-nine percent of respondents believe that a critical mass will be reached in two to five years. Seventy percent think that demand will be prompted by merchant adoption. The respondents are all specialists of mobile financial services.
