UK: Internet retail sales to increase

Internet research firm IMRG predicts that UK online sales will reach GB£ 42bn (US$ 83.28bn EUR 61.63bn) in 2007, up from sales of GB£ 30.2bn the previous year. Online shoppers are expected to spend an average of GB£ 1,600 each in 2007. The growing popularity of internet retailing will see 860mn items dispatched, according to IMRG. The research firm predicts that online sales in the UK could reach GB£ 78bn by 2010.
