Europe: Mobile Internet user trends are examined
A study by the European Interactive Advertising Association (EIAA) has shown that of those Europeans who regularly connect to the Internet from a mobile device, 37% look at social networking sites. Some 33% of those using mobile technology for online connection in the 25-44 age bracket use the Internet for 17.8 hours a week compared to the 12.9 hours they spend watching television.
It was also found that 83% of mobile Internet users often look at news sites online while 79% access banking and finance servies and 70% look at technology websites. Of the mobile Internet users, 94% also have broadband Internet access, a 9% increase since 2005. The study found that 79% of this group were under the age of 45, 68%.
