UK-based ACH operator VocaLink is offering banks and their corporate clients SEPA-compliant global payments services through ABN Amro's global network.
In July 2007, VocaLink set up VocaLink €CSM, a pan-European clearing system for SEPA payments. VocaLink €CSM offers links to around 20 banks across Europe, allowing corporate clients to make SEPA-compliant payments throughout the euro-zone (Pan-European Payment Settlement Service Launches). SEPA is due to come into effect in the European Union in January 2008.
Through its partnership with Netherlands-based ABN Amro, VocaLink will now also be able to offer its corporate clients the ability to send euro payments worldwide. These payments will be delivered via ABN Amro’s network which spans over 50 countries.
The service to be offered by ABM Amro to VocaLink covers all payments types, including B2C, C2B and C2C, an ABN Amro spokesperson tells ePaynews.
“We will be providing VocaLink with the service from January 28, 2008, to line up with the launch of SEPA and VocaLink's €CSM,” the spokesperson says.
According to the spokesperson, the service offers VocaLink clients reach into the Netherlands for SEPA transfers and into the rest of the euro zone for SEPA-compliant transfers, where the beneficiary bank is not yet reachable. “In addition the service enables VocaLink clients to send euro transfers outside the euro zone, and ABN AMRO will deliver these payments globally,” she says.
